🌐 Google Launches Standalone Gemini App on iPhone, Supporting Gemini Live Feature
Recently, Google announced the launch of a standalone Gemini application on iPhone, allowing users to access Gemini without going through the Google app. The new app features a clean interface, with a "Hello" greeting displayed on the homepage, reminiscent of the minimalist style of Google Search. Users can access their "Chats & Gems" conversation history from the top left corner, and the input box has been simplified to "Ask Gemini."
The app supports image generation using Imagen 3, and users can also take photos and attach them to prompts. Through Gemini Extensions, users can access data from Google services such as YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, and Calendar.
Notably, the Gemini Live feature is being introduced for the first time on iPhone, allowing users to have natural conversations with Gemini, supporting the insertion of new information or changing topics during the conversation. Additionally, the Live Activity feature enables users to interact with Gemini Live while using other apps or on the lock screen. Users can also choose from 10 different voices for all Gemini replies.
Currently, the app supports languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Turkish, and Vietnamese. This free app has been launched in 35 languages worldwide, and users can download it from the App Store. Meanwhile, users can still access Gemini through the Google app or mobile web.
